In recent years, the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, worked hard on the renovation of the University Medical Center. This renewal includes the new hospital and Education Centre, the expansion of the Sophia Children’s Hospital and the renewal of the Thoraxcenter. When the building of 130,000 m² is ready, renovation of the existing sections will start.

This means that over the next few years relocations will take place including:

  • Offices
  • Clinical departments (where patients are involved)
  • Outpatient departments
  • Laboratories.

In 2011 the Erasmus MC started a purchasing process for selecting a new supplier for the implementation of both the regular and project removals. After the pre-selection, the tendering process started. Eventually Convoi won this tender. By February 1, work began in downtown Rotterdam.

The building project is ambitious and seeks to achieve the highest possible levels, both in terms of care concept and building qualities. It is a University Medical Center of the 21st century that will be ready for the future. More information about the building project can be found at new Erasmus

Convoi is looking forward to this new collaboration with the Erasmus Medical Center. At the right you will see some pictures of the new building and the signing of the contract by: fltr. Paul Stöver (Erasmus MC), Alex de Jong (Convoi), Leon Spronken (Convoi) and Mark Koppenberg (Convoi).
